Yesterday Justin Bieber got, taunting him about the fact The Weeknd is now dating his on-off ex Selena Gomez, and (choice lyric: "I just took that chick, and I know you feelin' some way, oh yeah/She just want a nigga like me, you feelin' some way, way, way, yeah").
If The Weeknd's words weren't cruel enough, Gomez took Bieber to task hours later, via the new song "It Ain't Me," a collab with Norwegian producer Kygo. The whole song seems to be about how he let her down. And it appears to be her way of saying things are absolutely, positively done between her and the Biebs.
She hits him with a few rhetorical questions on the song's chorus:
"Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning? / Who's
gonna rock you when the sun won't let you sleep? / Who's waking up to
drive you home when you're drunk and all alone?"
The answer lies in the title. "It ain't me," Gomez proudly chants.
Yikes! Can you believe how cutthroat the song is? Some of the verses are just so cold and clearly match up to the problems in Selena and Justin’s past relationship. “We stopped seeing eye to eye/You were staying out all night/And I had enough,” Selena sings. Oh boy, definitely something there.
